1/2 cup cracked freekeh
1 cup water
1 cup skim milk
pinch salt
1/2 tsp cinnamon
2 tbsp maple syrup
2 tbsp dried cherries
2 tbsp pistachios

1. Combine freekeh, water, milk, salt and cinnamon in a medium saucepan. 

 

2. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to a simmer and cook uncovered, stirring occasionally, for 25 minutes. Stir in the maple syrup.

3. Divide the cooked freekeh between two bowls. Top with dried cherries and pistachios.

Serve immediately.
