Frozen Kefir Pop with Lucky Fruit

On New Year's Eve in Spain, revelers eat a grape with each of the twelve chimes announcing the new year from the clock tower in Madrid's Puerta del Sol. If you've consumed all twelve before the last chime, you're guaranteed good luck! This recipe from Julie Smolyansky puts a frozen twist on this tradition. You can't quite fit twelve grapes in one ice pop, so cut them in half and just add a few; other fruit works just as well for a yummy flavor.

3 1/2 cups organic plain whole-milk kefir
2 tbsp honey
1 cup seedless grapes, halved (or your favorite fruit, chopped)

1. In a bowl, mix the kefir with the honey.

 

2. Divide the fruit among eight 4-ounce pop molds, then top them with honeyed kefir, filling each mold all the way up.

 

3. Freeze until set or overnight.
