Giada De Laurentiis' Gravy

4 cups unsalted chicken broth
4 sprigs of thyme
1 bay leaf
1/4 cup cornstarch
1/4 cup water
1 1/2 tsp kosher salt

1. In a medium saucepan, heat the chicken broth, thyme, and bay leaf over medium high heat. Bring the stock to a simmer, reduce the heat to maintain a simmer.

 

2. In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and water until smooth and no lumps remain. Whisk the cornstarch slurry into the simmering broth. Continue to whisk until smooth and thickened about 5 minutes.

 

3. Whisk in the remaining turkey drippings and the kosher salt. Remove the thyme sprigs and bay leaf and serve along side the carved turkey.
