Green Bean Casserole

Green bean casserole has long been a staple on the Thanksgiving table, and everyone has a slightly different way of preparing it. For some, green bean casserole consists of frozen and canned ingredients tossed together and baked. However, this recipe incorporates homemade cream of mushroom soup, which will give you more flavor with just a few simple ingredients.

4 cups fresh or frozen green beans, cooked and cut
1 ⅓ cups crispy fried onions
homemade cream of mushroom soup, 1 recipe’s worth
⅛ tsp black pepper

1. Preheat oven to 350°F.


2. Mix beans, onions, soup, and pepper in a 1 1/2-quart oven-safe baking dish.


3. Bake for 30 minutes. Stir.


4. Top casserole with remaining 2/3 cup onions. Bake 5 minutes until onions are lightly browned.
