Martha Stewart's Vanilla Extract

2 vanilla beans
1 cup vodka or bourbon

1. Split vanilla beans lengthwise, and place in a resealable jar or bottle. Cover with vodka.

 

2. Seal and store in a cool place, shaking occasionally, for one to two months before using.
