Filmmaker Max Lugavere drinks his brain-boosting smoothie recipe every day because it contains curcumin — an ingredient found in turmeric that is believed to have Alzheimer's-fighting properties. Lugavere included coffee and coconut or mct oil in the recipe because they've shown to be brain protective with turmeric and the black pepper has been shown to absorb curcumin better.
- 1 cup coffee
- 1 tbsp coconut or mct oil
- 1/4 tsp turmeric
- 1 pinch black pepper
1. Put all ingredients into a blender.
2. Blend until smooth.
