Spicy Salmon Steaks

  • 1/2 cup brown rice, cooked
  • Juice of 1 fresh lemon
  • 1/2 bunch cilantro, finely chopped
  • 2 salmon steaks
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic paste
  • 1 tbsp crushed red pepper
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 tbsp avocado oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste


First, wash the fish steaks and marinate with garlic paste, red pepper, cumin, salt and turmeric for 15 minutes. Heat avocado oil in a non-stick pan on high and add the marinated fish to sauté for 2 minutes on both sides. Cover the pan with foil and bake in oven for 15-20 minutes.

Put the cooked brown rice in a bowl and toss with 1 teaspoon lemon juice and some salt and pepper to taste. Mix well and pour onto 2 plates equal amounts.

Place the baked salmons each on top of the brown rice and garnish with chopped cilantro.
