Warm Tap Water
Warm or hot water can contain higher levels of lead than cold water, and about 15% of lead exposure in the United States comes from drinking water.
Why is lead bad? Your brain has lots of little blood vessels that act as shields, but lead barges past them. Once inside, it can damage neurons or kill them off. Over time, this causes the whole brain to shrink from the damage – and too much lead exposure can lead to memory loss.
Erase Your Age Mistake: Whether you’re getting a drink or prepping a meal with tap water, make sure it’s cold. If you haven’t turned on the faucet in over 6 hours, let it run cold for a full minute before using. Your brain will thank you for it.
