Processed Foods

Many processed foods are laden with junk ingredients that are bad for your health and can also promote premature aging. Read food labels and be sure to steer clear of these primary culprits: High fructose corn syrup, trans fats, and refined sugar. In general, reach for whole foods with limited lists of ingredients and swap white bread, rice, crackers, etc. for whole-grain versions that are more nutrient-dense and provide a slow, sustained energy release.

It’s wise to also limit your consumption of deli meats, sausages, hot dogs and other processed meats that are loaded with nitrates (linked to gout, stomach cancer) and saturated fats that put you at risk for cardiovascular disease.
