Psychologist Dr. Jen Hartstein recommends reducing your focus on what’s stressing you by creating a new sensation. Try holding a piece of ice in your hand for as long as you can. This exercise works similarly to a stress ball – it’s a physical distraction for your mind. You can also try stretching a rubberband or rolling marbles in your hand.
